기둥 (Pillar)
‘기둥’과 ‘보’는 전통 건축의 필수적이고 기초적인 구조물로, 단순한 형태 속에 내재된 강인함과 견고함을 표현합니다. ‘기둥’ 작품은 한옥 기둥의 장부 구멍에서 영감을 받아 탄생했습니다.
이 작품은 이러한 전통적 요소를 현대적으로 재해석한 결과물입니다. 하부에 보이지 않는 바퀴를 설치해 이동성을 높였으며, 장부 구멍을 활용해 사물을 집중적으로 포커싱할 수 있는 기능을 더했습니다.
“Pillars” and “Beams” are fundamental structural elements in traditional Korean architecture, expressing inherent strength and stability within their simple forms. The work Pillar draws inspiration from the mortise holes found in hanok columns.
This piece represents a contemporary reinterpretation of these traditional elements. Hidden wheels installed at the base enhance mobility, while the mortise-inspired openings function as focal points, allowing objects to be framed and highlighted. Through this integration of structure and function, the work bridges architectural heritage and modern sensibility.

Within its soft and natural surface textures, the work embodies a solid internal structure, expressing the spirit of Korean aesthetics. Each element can be assembled into a unified bench or used independently, symbolizing both harmony and autonomy, as well as the balance between tradition and contemporaneity.
The tactile surface qualities and organic forms emphasize sensory experience, allowing viewers to perceive rhythm and the beauty of negative space. Through diverse arrangements and spatial configurations, the work becomes an open and interactive piece that actively engages with its surroundings and its audience.

”한자 田(전)“을 모티브로 한 작품으로, 밤의 논과 밭 풍경을 형상화하고 있습니다. 이 작품은 4개의 모듈로 구성된 로우 테이블로, ”밭 전“자의 형태를 시각적으로 표현하며 독창적인 미적 감각을 드러냅니다.
밤의 고요한 풍경을 담은 디자인은 자연의 평온함과 정적을 전달하며, 관람객에게 편안하고 잔잔한 분위기를 선사합니다.
Inspired by the Chinese character 田 (jeon), meaning “field,” this work visualizes the landscape of rice paddies and farmlands at night.
Composed of four modular units, the low table visually embodies the structure of the character 田, expressing a distinctive aesthetic sensibility.
Its design captures the quiet stillness of nocturnal scenery, conveying the calm and tranquility of nature. Through its restrained form and subtle atmosphere, the work offers viewers a sense of comfort and contemplative serenity.

경(鏡)
이 작품은 ‘비추다’라는 경(鏡)의 본질적 의미를 현대적으로 재해석한 거울입니다. 닥나무 줄기의 유기적인 질감이 반영되어, 관람자의 시선에 따라 변화하는 모습을 보여줍니다.
다섯 줄의 선으로 이루어진 형상은 동양 철학의 오행과 오감을 상징하며, 자연과 인간의 조화, 중심과 균형의 의미를 담고 있습니다.
This work is a mirror that reinterprets the essential meaning of gyeong (鏡), “to reflect,” in a contemporary context. The organic textures of mulberry stems are embedded into its surface, creating subtle variations that shift according to the viewer’s perspective.
The form, composed of five linear elements, symbolizes the Five Elements and the Five Senses in Eastern philosophy. It embodies harmony between nature and humanity, as well as the concepts of balance and centeredness.

단순한 직사각형 형태와 크기, 간격의 변화는 보의 유연한 역할과 공간을 잇는 다리 같은 의미를 담아냅니다. 디자인에 모스부호 요소를 활용하여 형태적으로 재미있고 흥미로운 포인트를 더했습니다.
“Pillars” and “Beams” are fundamental structural elements in traditional Korean architecture, expressing inherent strength and stability within their simple forms. The work Beam is inspired by the bang (枋) of hanok architecture, reinterpreting the structural beauty and philosophical depth of traditional construction in a contemporary context.
Variations in the simple rectangular forms, sizes, and intervals reflect the beam’s flexible role as a bridge that connects and supports space. Incorporating elements of Morse code into the design adds visual interest and playful rhythm, creating a distinctive and engaging aesthetic.
